2026 CHC Board Training (Virtual)

PACHC is hosting CHC Board Training: Strengthening CHC Governance Through Compliance, Leadership, and Recruitment, a four-part virtual series geared toward health center board members. This dynamic training session prepares Community Health Center board members to lead with confidence, clarity, and compliance. Participants will explore the core fiduciary duties—Duty of Care, Duty of Loyalty, and Duty of Obedience—and how these responsibilities shape effective governance and mission stewardship. The session will also cover:

• The strategic relationship between the Board and CEO, emphasizing role clarity, shared accountability, and collaborative leadership
• Common governance pitfalls, including failures, leadership challenges, compliance gaps, and board development barriers
• Key elements of HRSA’s Compliance Manual, with a focus on Board Authority (Chapter 19) and Board Composition (Chapter 20) to support Operational Site Visit (OSV) readiness
• Practical strategies for recruiting and onboarding board members who reflect the community and bring diverse skills and lived experience
• The board’s role in fundraising, advocacy, and resource development to advance the CHC’s mission.

Designed for both new and experienced board members, this bootcamp offers actionable insights and tools to strengthen board performance, regulatory compliance, and community impact.

When: Designed as a four-part “lunch and learn” series, the training will be conducted virtually as described below. Participants should plan to attend all sessions for a full and comprehensive understanding:

• January 16 from 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm
• January 23 from 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm
• January 20 from 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm
• February 6 from 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm
