Medicare LIS/MSP Training

Join us for this complimentary members-only training scheduled for Tuesday, September 1, from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm. Enrollment Assisters participating in the Medicare Low Income Subsidy/Medicare Savings Program funding opportunity through PACHC must complete this 3-hour mandatory Medicare Low-Income Subsidy (LIS), also known as the Medicare Part D Extra Help Program, helps eligible beneficiaries who have limited income to pay for Medicare Part D prescription drug costs. LIS provides assistance in paying for Part D monthly premiums, annual deductibles, coinsurance, and copayments. Individuals enrolled in the Extra Help program do not have a gap in prescription drug coverage, also known as the coverage gap, or the Medicare “donut hole.” The amount of subsidy depends on the individual’s income compared to the Federal Poverty Level and resource limitations set by the Social Security Act. Medicare Savings Programs (MSP) are federally funded programs administered by each individual state for people with limited income and resources. In some cases, Medicare Savings Programs may also pay Medicare Part A (Hospital Insurance) and Medicare Part B (Medical Insurance) deductibles, coinsurance, and copayments if enrollees meet certain conditions.

Note: Because this webinar is free and available to PACHC members only, your registration will be pending until membership is verified and your attendance is approved by a PACHC staff member. If you are an organizational member, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to “Join Webinar.”
